Research into the needs of students who are gifted and talented has repeatedly shown that they thrive when clustered in groups in regular education classrooms. Such clustering generally consists of the placement of four to eight gifted students in a classroom, but these numbers can vary depending on the availability of classroom space. It has been found that gifted students placed in such a setting show improved academic and social growth, which is attributed to the opportunity for regular interactions and healthy competition with their intellectual peers.
The Post Falls School District cluster gifted students grades 2-8.
